New additions to the management team!

The Holiday Inn Mission Valley is pleased to announce the addition of five new managers to the hotels management team. Christine Stonebraker (Assistant General Manger), Vince Stubbs CHSP (Sales Manager), Krystal Chavez (Sales Coordinator), Shaun Leydet (Rayo Bar and Grill Manager) and Will Thompson (Food and Beverage Director). Together the new team members bring over 60 years of hotel and restaurant experience.


Here's more on the new team members:


Wes Lavender

Wes Lavender is the new General Manager at our hotel. He assumed role of GM on November 4th. Wes was previously the general manager at the Country Inn and Suites on Sorrento Mesa. Wes is originally from Texas, but has been a resident of San Diego since 2001

Shaun Michael Leydet

Shaun Michael Leydet is the manager of The Rayo Grill. Shaun comes to San Diego from Massachusetts with over 8 years experience as a general manager of 3 franchised cafés and 2 years of front of house management for a fine dining restaurant. Shaun graduated from Lenox Memorial High school & attended Berkshire Community College.


Christine Stonebraker, CMP

Christine Stonebraker, CMP, Assistant General Manager, has been in the Hospitality Industry for 20 years. She began her career as a Catering Secretary at the Town and Country hotel in Mission Valley. She spent 7 years working in Catering and Event Management and 13 years in Sales. Christine came to the Holiday Inn Mission Valley from the Courtyard San Diego Central where she was the Director of Sales for 5 years. She brings with her a great deal of knowledge of the local area and San Diego. Christine received her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification in 1999 and is a Past President with the San Diego Chapter of Meeting Professionals International.


Will Thompson

Willard Thompson is the Food and Beverage Director of the Holiday Inn - Stadium Hotel. Willard comes to San Diego from Arizona with 16 years of high volume restaurant experience. He developed 2 new restaurants in the new Planet Hollywood Hotel in Las Vegas and spent the last 3 years as the Executive chef for Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurants in Scottsdale, Arizona. Willard graduated from Coronado High school and attend Southwest Community College.

Vince Stubbs,CHSP

Vince Stubbs joined the Holiday in this January. Vince’s previous experience includes Director of Sales positions with Holiday Inn, and Hilton properties in Northern Virginia. Vince served as Corporate Director of Sales with Coakley Williams Hotel Management Company before joining the Holiday Inn Mission Valley. Vince has a strong background in government and corporate affairs from serving as a board member of the Association of the United States Army, Chairperson of the Economic Development Committee of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce as well as being Past President of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce.
Vince is a native of New Jersey. He earned his A.A. from Bergen Community College in Paramus New Jersey where he majored in Hotel and Restaurant Management.







Recently the Holiday Inn Mission Valley has undergone some major upgrades to the exterior as well as the interior of the hotel. More upgrades are on the way as the hotel readies for a major relaunch.
