“Laugh for Recovery”

As part of the Holiday Inn Mission Valley Stadium’s ongoing community outreach our hotel participated the Mental Health Systems, Inc “Laugh for Recover" fundraiser.
Held on March 7th, 2010 the Mental Health Systems 3rd annual “Laugh for Recovery” event took place at the Belly Up in Solana Beach. Mental Health Systems Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals, families and communities impacted by mental health and alcohol and drug related illnesses.

MHS divisions include Mental Health Services, Corrections and Rehabilitation and Alcohol and Drug Services. Each division provides services to individuals, families and communities who have unique needs, including but not limited to the seriously mentally ill, dually diagnosed, transitioning youth, homeless mentally ill, homeless veterans, and individuals involved with the criminal justice or correctional system.
Besides having entertainment the event also conducted drawing for gift prizes donated from local businesses. Our hotel donated a weekend stay package valued at over $200
Comedians included:
Chris Kid Reid: Chris "KID" Reid: A successfully comedian, KID performs a unique nightclub act that combines humor, hip hop and audience participation. Originally a member of the highly successful rap duo Kid-N-Play, Chris took his success in to the arena of feature film as the star of the KID also starred in the now classic House Party movies.
Chris Clobber: Unusual, fresh, and very funny, he is consistently re-booked wherever he performs. As well as writing for film and television, and other top name performers. He’s appeared in numerous commercials, sitcoms, and has been seen on A&E, ABC, CBS, NBC, Showtime and Comedy Central.
Shayma Tash: Shayma has performed her hilarious stand-up on several shows such as the Keenan Ivory Wayans Show, Cedric the Entertainer Presents and Funny is Funny and is currently opening for Carrot Top in Las Vegas.
